Thousand Pines Outdoor Science School (TPOSS) is located in the mountain community of Crestline, in the San Bernardino Mountains. Thousand Pines offers your students an outdoor classroom where we promote an understanding of the natural world through hands-on experiences with nature. Students will explore and experience the natural world at Thousand Pines on numerous hikes throughout the week to practice observing, collaborating, and drawing conclusions within the subjects of: Botany, Ecology, Geology, Astronomy, Ornithology, Entomology, and Sustainability.
Students are also challenged to engage in a variety of outdoor challenges such as: archery, rock wall, wilderness survival, night hike, and team building exercises which are designed to help students achieve personal growth through their sense of accomplishment and increased self-confidence. Students are guided through their experience by trained outdoor education staff members where direct experience and observation provide unique learning opportunities.
Founded in 1977, Genesis Account (GA) provides quality outdoor education programs for Christian Schools. Using God’s creation as the classroom, GA is committed to growing students and adults towards a deeper relationship with God by helping them understand His creation and how it reflects the nature and attributes of a personal God (Romans 1:20). GA is interdenominational and subscribes to the Statement of Faith of the Association of Christian Schools International. Our program is designed to offer hands-on learning opportunities, and increase students' awareness of God's love through a better understanding of His Creation. It also encourages students to deepen relationships with their peers and classroom teachers.
